The Short Answer

Stay on or near Kalakaua Avenue, the beachfront road through Waikiki. Our pick is the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower, an all-suite tower across the street from the beach whose two-bedroom oceanfront suites all have full kitchens. A daily amenity fee is charged, but it includes valet parking for one car.

For two bathrooms and a washer and dryer, the Grand Waikikian in Hilton Hawaiian Village has two-bedroom suites for six with a full kitchen and a balcony; The Grand Islander and Lagoon Tower are the other Hilton Grand Vacations towers in the village. Aston Waikiki Sunset, about four blocks back, has two-bedroom suites for six and free parking, and the Ewa Hotel is the budget choice two blocks from the beach. If you'd rather have a resort than a city, Ko Olina on the west side has Marriott two-bedroom villas on a lagoon.

Kitchens, Fees and Closures

  • Full kitchen or not. Aston Waikiki Beach Tower and Aston Waikiki Sunset have full kitchens, and so do the two-bedroom suites at the Grand Waikikian and The Grand Islander. Lagoon Tower's kitchens are full or partial depending on the suite, and the Ewa Hotel has kitchenettes.
  • Amenity fees and parking. Aston Waikiki Beach Tower charges a daily amenity fee that includes valet for one car; Aston Waikiki Sunset lists free parking. At the Hilton Grand Vacations towers, check the parking charge and any resort fee on the listing. Since May 2025, US rules require mandatory fees to be included in the total price shown.
  • Ko Olina closures. The Naiʻa Pool at Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club is closed until December 18, 2026, and the Kona Tower is being refurbished from January 4 to June 23, 2027.
  • Three towers, one village. The Grand Waikikian, The Grand Islander and Lagoon Tower are all inside Hilton Hawaiian Village and share its pools and beach, so choose by kitchen and laundry.
